“The talk”

I consider my self as a pretty relaxed girl, specially when it comes to relationships, i knew i wanted to keep in touch with him but i wasn’t sure how this relation was going to develop, specially because he is like me in some ways, regarding this ‘no relationship talk’ policy i have…. is not that i don’t like to formalize a relationship, its just that the circumstances were a bit odd. So i just let it flow, and as i said in my previous post, it just took its natural course, we said goodbye with the promise of seeing each other eventually. The question here was: Am I Single?, i mean i was going back to my country, far away from were he was, and that question lead other questions, are we exclusive? is it ok if i kiss other guys? am i going to be jealous if I knew he kissed other girls? Sh*t, maybe we should have had that talk i was avoiding to have.

As a good advice, if you don’t like to have the talk….think it twice, maybe its something you should have, for me it worked out fine, we were talking everyday, i missed him, he missed me (and he wanted to make sure i knew that, by using different ”techniques” to let me know, but ill talk about that later.), it was pretty clear that i wasn’t single, my family knew that, my friends knew that, i even had some pictures of him in my room, so again, who am i kidding? The good thing was that he acknowledge the fact that we didn’t have “the talk”, i don’t remember his exact words but he said something like “i’m really glad we didn’t need to have the relationship talk, i mean we are both sure about how we feel about each other” and then he smiled.

I’m not going to lie, during those few weeks i was in the limbo between a single women and a taken one, it was a bit stressful, it was fun though, and i did have to turn down a couple of pretty decent guys, Why is it that when you start dating a guy, all of the others come after you??? I guess we will never know.

HOW DID I PUT MY SELF IN THIS SITUATION??????? i bet that this is a question that every women has made to herself at some point in her life, and not only regarding men or relationships or sex, but about everything, men criticize us exactly because of this, we make a lot of questions, but i think its necessary, not only because it means we care about the subject in matter, but because it doesnt mean we are not sure about the steps that we take, but because we just want to make sure those steps are the right ones.

For me that question came when i realize that the “fling” i thought i was having suddenly developed, under my own eyes, into a pretty serious committed relationship. Before my guy came along i wasnt looking for anything serious, on the contrary, i was in a foreign country with my best friend having fun for a few months, and everything was really cool, we went out we had friends, i made out with a couple of guys, until it just happened, i found my self laying naked in his bed… not only that but it became something pretty often, and it was not only the sex, that was, that is really good, we talked a lot, we had things in common, he was sweet, and it was really comfortable. WTF just happened?! and from that point on, this situation i put my self into was kind of set, i had feelings for him and he did for me, i went to his hometown, met all of his family, that are really nice btw, but , there always has to be a BUT, i was flying back home in a couple of months….

luckily for us it was kind of easy, we were in the same page, i was lucky, so bottom line, after 7 months, and thousands of kilometers in the way we are still together, and it feels really good…..
